Bombers acquire Desrosiers

BombersThe Flin Flon Bombers have acquired defenceman Simon Desrosiers (1994) from the Portage Terriers of the MJHL in exchange for future considerations.

The deal was announced Dec.4 at 3:30 p.m. via the Bombers Twitter account.

Desrosiers, a native of Ste-Julie, Que., was acquired by the Terriers only a few days earlier after starting the season with the AJHL’s Grande Prairie Storm. In 16 games with the Storm, Desrosiers put up three goals and 10 points from the blueline.

“Simon was a guy our head scout and I watched at the Alberta showcase in September,” head coach/general manager Mike Reagan wrote via email. “We have been trying to add offense to our back-end for sometime now.”

PortageReagan said Desrosiers is already in Flin Flon and should to suit up this weekend. The hope is Desrosiers will provided that supplementary offense Reagan has been looking for.

The Bombers host the Melville Millionaires this evening before welcoming the Estevan Bruins tomorrow night.

The 6-foot-1 defenceman registered three goals and 29 points in 43 junior-A games split between the Abitibi Eskimos (NOJHL) and Fort Frances Lakers (SIJHL) last season.
