The deal was announced on the SJHL transaction page yesterday.
Hiebert, a native of Red Deer, had one goal in 14 games with the Bombers this season.
The 5-foot-10 forward had been with the Bombers since the 2011-12 season. In 101 career SJHL games, Hiebert tallied 18 goals and 34 assists.
In Poulin-Roy, the Bombers add a 19-year-old forward with major junior experience. Poulin-Roy has suited up for 16 games with the OHL’s Sudbury Wolves between 2010 and 2013, notching one goal and five PIMs.
“He’s been a kid we have been after for two years,” said Bombers head coach/general manager Mike Reagan. “(He) brings good size, scoring (and) he’s physical. We expect him to step in to play with Dillan McCombie and Cam Blair when Cam gets healthy.”
In 40 career NOJHL games between 2010 and 2013, Poulin-Roy registered 16 goals and 29 assists. According to Reagan, Poulin-Roy is expected to join the Bombers early next week.
The Bombers are in the midst of a three-game road trip that started with a 3-2 shootout victory over the Melfort Mustangs Wednesday evening. Flin Flon is in Kindersley to take on the Klippers tonight before heading to Battlefords to face the North Stars tomorrow evening.
