As promised by head coach/general manager Mike Reagan, Garrett Forster did not stay a Flin Flon Bomber for very long. According to the BCHL, the Bombers shipped the 1995-born forward to the Surrey Eagles in exchange for 1994-born forward Joel Gaudet and future considerations.
Forster was originally acquired by the Bombers in the deal that sent forward Justin Rasmussen to the Dieppe Commandos of the Maritime Junior League Oct. 5.
He had been playing with the Aldergrove Kodiaks of the Pacific Junior Hockey League (junior B) since the deal.
In Gaudet, the Bombers receive a 5-foot-9, 170-pound forward with 56 games of junior A experience. Gaudet was with the Eagles on their trip to the RBC Cup and Western Canada Cup last spring, getting into one game between the two tournaments after he dressed for 13 games through the BCHL post-season. In 56 career games with the Eagles from 2012-13, Gaudet netted four goals and 13 points.
The Bombers are in Estevan tonight to face the Bruins before heading to Weyburn Friday night.
