Bombers acquire Henes from Cowichan

BombersThe Flin Flon Bombers have acquired defenceman Devin Henes (1994) from the Cowichan Capitals of the BCHL in exchange for future considerations.

Brian Webe, who runs the BCHL blog “Brian’s Banter,” announced the deal via Twitter. It was subsequently confirmed by the BCHL.

Henes is a native of Calgary, Alta. In six games with the Capitals this season, he has posted one assist along with eight PIMs.

Prior to joining Cowichan Valley, Henes spent the 2011-12 season with the AJHL’s Calgary Mustangs, tallying four assists and 60 PIMs in 46 games.

The 6-foot, 174-pound blueliner is a left-handed shot.

The Bombers, who currently sit last place in the SJHL’s Sherwood Division, defeated Weyburn 4-1 Friday night and will look to string together a second-straight victory when they visit Melville Tuesday night.
