Klippers acquire Mills from Red Wings

Klippers logoThe Kindersley Klippers have acquired 1995-born goaltender Brenden Mills from the Weyburn Red Wings in exchange for future considerations.

Klippers play-by-play man Dean Gutenberg broke the trade earlier this evening following Kindersley’s 5-3 victory over the La Ronge Ice Wolves.

Mills was deemed expendable by Weyburn following the acquisition of goaltender Tanner Burgardt from the BCHL’s West Kelowna Warriors Thursday night.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Mills is in his first SJHL season. A native of Peachland, B.C., Mills has only appeared in one game, making seven saves in 18 minutes of crease time with Weyburn.

The Klippers have been in need of help in the goaltending department after Evan Weninger was knocked out of action with a concussion last weekend in Flin Flon.

Following the 5-3 victory over La Ronge this evening, the Klippers head to Melfort to take on the Mustangs Saturday night. Kindersley will close out this most recent road trip in Nipawin Sunday night.
