The Flin Flon Bombers have traded forward Justin Rasmussen to the Dieppe Commandos of the Maritime Junior A Hockey League (MJAHL) in exchange for right winger Garrett Forster, defenceman Bryce Eviston and future considerations.
The transaction was reported Oct. 5 by the MJAHL.
Rasmussen, a native of Georgetown, Ont., was in his first season with the Bombers after spending the majority of last season with the Summerside Western Capitals of the MJAHL. In four games this season, Rasmussen posted one assist and five PIMs for Flin Flin. Last year with Summerside, he tallied 12 goals and 36 points in 35 games. The 6-foot-1 forward spent the 2011-12 season with the Mississauaga St. Mike’s Majors of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL).
Forster and Eviston come to Flin Flon having not played a single game for the Commandos. Prior to Dieppe’s acquisition of Rasmussen, the Commandos acquired both Forster and Eviston from the AJHL’s Brook Bandits in exchange for future considerations. The two were then immediately flipped to the Bombers in exchange for Rasmussen.
Forster is an 18-year-old native of Surrey, B.C. and registered one assist in seven games with the Bandits this season. Prior to joining Brooks , Forster played 107 games in the BCHL, putting up 11 goals and 38 points during time split between the Chilliwack Chiefs and Coquitlam Express. The Bandits originally acquired Forster from the Coquitlam Express Sept. 4, 2013.
Eviston is a 19-year-old defenceman from Vancouver, B.C. who landed with the Bandits in the same trade that shipped Forster to Alberta. In seven games with Brooks, Eviston posted three assists and eight PIMs. The 5-foot-10 blueliner put up one goal and four points in 52 career BCHL games between 2010-2013.
The Bombers will host the Weyburn Red Wings Friday night at the Whitney Forum.
