The Ice Wolves (4-0-0) sit in third place in the CJHL rankings, jumping from 14th last week. La Ronge remained undefeated after the second weekend of the SJHL season. With wins over the Humboldt Broncos and Weyburn Red Wings, the Ice Wolves strengthened their lead in the SJHL’s Sherwood Division. Next up, La Ronge hosts the Estevan Bruins Friday night.
Owen LaClare led the way offensively for the Ice Wolves, tallying four goals and one assist in team’s last two victories.
The Klippers (3-0-0) jumped all the way to fifth place in this week’s CJHL ranks after sneaking into 19th place last week. Kindersley mounted a third-period comeback against the Melville Millionaires, defeating the visitors 5-3 after trailing 3-1 early in the final frame. This week the Klippers head north to Flin Flon for back-to-back games with the Bombers on Friday and Saturday.
Stefen Seel helped power the Klippers offense, notching the game-tying goal along with two assists. Connor Garden also chipped in with three assists.
For the second week in a row the AJHL’s Fort McMurray Oil Barons (10-0-0) and LHJAAAQ’s Les Cougars des Sherbrooke (10-0-0) own the top two spots in the CJHL.
