Hawks acquire Piattelli from Calgary Mustangs

HawksThe Nipawin Hawks have acquired 1995-born defenceman Jayden Piattelli from the Calgary Mustangs of the AJHL in exchange for future considerations.

The SJHL announced the trade via Twitter earlier this afternoon.

The 6-foot-2, 181-pound Piattelli dressed for four games with the Mustangs so far in 2013-14, registering two assists. Last season in 35 games with the Mustangs, the native of Calgary tallied six assists and 61 PIMs.

Piattelli joins a crowded Hawks blueline as Nipawin is already carrying eight rearguards. Eric Bollefer (1993), Jivan Sidhu (1995), Reece Forman (1994) and Ben Petros (1993) have dressed for all four of the Hawks games so far this season while Nolan Speiss (1995), Maxim Powiada (1995), Desmond Bast (1994) and Zackary Klebaum (1995) have each seen action in two games.

Nipawin is set to face the Melfort Mustangs this evening before continuing on to Humboldt to take on the Broncos Friday.
