Klippers ship Parenteau to Red Wings

ImageThe Kindersley Klippers have traded 1996-born goaltender Rylan Parenteau to the Weyburn Red Wings in exchange for future considerations.

Parenteau started the 2013-14 campaign at Prince Albert Raiders training camp before being reassigned to Kindersley. After a short stint with the Klippers, Parenteau was recalled by the Raiders Sept. 13 after 1993-born goaltender and former Kamloops Blazer Cole Cheveldave went down with an injury.

The 6-foot, 179-pound netminder was going to be in tough to make a Klippers squad with a glut of goaltenders in the mix. Apart from Parenteau, the Klippers also have 1996-born Evan Weninger (who was at training camp with the Kelowna Rockets this fall) as well as two 1994-born goaltenders in Alex Bitsakis and returner Tyrell King competing for ice time.

In other roster moves, the Klippers also released 1995-born defenceman Brett Bohlken.
